66% of Luristas have a different opinion than the president. 78% of non-Lurista leftists and 81% of independents. 51% of Brazilians believe this speech reflects Lula’s sincere opinions. 39% think the statement was a misunderstanding.
“My position against drug traffickers and organized crime is very clear,” Lula said. The president also said, “More important than words are the actions my government has taken,” referring to the security PEC being processed in Congress.
Quest also asked interviewees about Lula’s comments labeling the Rio operation as “disastrous.” More than half of the people (57%) oppose Lula, compared to 38% who approve of the president.
