The 66-year-old man was on his way to the Federal District when he was arrested last Friday (7/11) on a bus on BR-153 near Hydrolandia (GO) with R850,000 in cash.
His mission was to deliver the amount to a certain person once he reached the capital of the Republic.
The arrest was carried out by the Military Police of Goiás (PMGO), which had gathered information from intelligence services and was preparing to intercept a bus coming from São Paulo (SP).
He became nervous when authorities soon discovered nearly 1 million reais in cash inside his backpack.

The man said he received a closed suitcase containing money and was instructed to board a bus to deliver the amount to this person in DF. He will earn R$2,000 for this service.
When questioned by police, the suspect did not say who delivered the suitcase at SP, but said he did not know who would receive the money at DF.
PMGO took the man to the Federal Police (PF) and arrested him on money laundering charges. However, the suspect was released after giving a statement. The incident is being investigated by PF.
