Palace intrigue creates a certain charm in the royal court, but in most cases real life is more boring than we imagine. Antonio Lepulo (Cádiz, May 5, 1975) spoke on the opening day of the regional conference. … PP – A speech that may sound like a farewell. It often happens when you present your four-year work report and still don’t get approval from your boss and are waiting for the scheduled time. Just before giving a speech and detailing the new executive of the Andalusian People’s Party, Juanma Moreno said: He personally communicated his confidence for another four years..

Although born in Cadiz, it soon settled in Cordoba with its headquarters on Calle San Fernando. Continue to apply his “method” It has allowed the organization to come together and align around common objectives and projects. The weak structure of the People’s Party is strengthened not only by virtue of the power emanating from the military junta, but also by its own perspective, which seeks to separate in a sense from the executive branch in order to take its own steps. The Andalusian Party is immersed in a cultural transformation in order to achieve its desired roots, reach the social majority (beyond the electorate) and become the party of the Andalusians. The person at the helm is this lawyer who follows the president’s moderate path.

-First related question. What is your assessment of the regional conferences of the Andalucía PP?

-That’s very positive. The format was a combination of Broncano and Hormiguero, making it a different tournament than previous tournaments. Communicating the characteristics of Juanma Moreno and the Party to the attendees was something different than in the past, and an unusually large number of people who were not members of the Party also participated.

Those who were there listened to the voices of society and told us what they wanted from the People’s Party, their aspirations, constructive criticism and how we could improve the work of the party whose mandate is government, not only in the Andalusian military regime, but also at city and state level.

-What was the turning point? What has changed?

–The way we do politics has also changed. The Andalusian PP is immersed in a cultural change, a new perspective on politics. Not because we’re smarter than anyone else, but because that’s what we’ve seen on the streets. For three years, we have asked the people what that relationship should be, and this has been reflected in Congress.

Political parties, like any other company, family, or other organization, undergo many modifications and society also undergoes significant changes. There is innovation. Important topics such as artificial intelligence, digitalization are emerging and we need to update ourselves.

-It was precisely Gramsci who theorized in a pioneering way about cultural hegemony as a means to achieve political and social change. It is not only about new technologies, but also about another relationship that exists in Andalusia and is becoming clouded at the national level.

-We are immersed in an increasingly tense society. The world of politics produces a lot of rejection, especially among the youngest members of society. What we propose is a different way of doing that politics. Moreover, Andalusia is an island of different coexistence, and we know how to isolate ourselves from external factors that dilute it.

Some political parties make very radical speeches, while others come with the sole purpose of creating tension, believing it will benefit them. I think that’s a mistake. We want the People’s Party to be seen as a useful party, a party that exists to serve others and provide control, solutions and the ability to address society’s challenges, as far away from the mire, quagmire, criticism and walls as possible.

-But do you think that’s what society wants, or do you think it’s something that needs to be communicated?

-Match. There is a symbiotic relationship between what the people of Andalusia want and what the Popular Party wants. We are a party that always listens to the voice of society, and that is one of the essential characteristics of the president. So are all of us behind him.

If we listen to society, if society wants to solve its problems and does not want insults and anger, then we will respond to what we are hearing. The time that passes in political tensions and fighting is the time we are losing to solve problems and better manage Andalusia’s interests.

– Congress was expected to find out what position Nuñez Feijó intended to take regarding the “two souls” of this formation. The popular president gave momentum to the Andalusian line. Instead, Mr. Terrado delivered a speech that was keenly aware of its harshness and coercion.

-There are many ways to say it. We are saying the same thing in different ways. Feijoo always says the same thing when he comes. That is, if he becomes president of Spain, he will sign a deal that will solve the Andalusian problem. Basically, he wants to resolve the great dissatisfaction that the Spanish government has with Andalusia, and in particular with María Jesús Montero. She is the minister who can solve it, because there is a lack of funds.

they all agree on that. We are a united party that believes that the development of all communities must go hand in hand and that no more or less benefit can accrue depending on the political color of the ruler. The message is the same, but each has its own unique style.

-What does it mean that Díaz Ayuso did not come?

-a shame. She is one of our party’s great national leaders and has always supported Juanma Moreno. We still owe that debt, but we hope you’ll join us soon.

-Was there a moment of intrigue as to whether you would continue as general secretary or were you absolutely certain that you would be reconfirmed by the president?

・I have great respect for the president’s ability to fulfill his duties. he decides. Therefore, I was going to be suspicious unless he recognized me. I am glad that the President continues to trust me with this responsibility in the Andalusian Party. So it’s a huge thing.

-When did you tell him?

-(published) a while ago.

– And did he tell you why he trusts you?

-We submitted a management report containing the projects we initiated, goals and strategies achieved. The PP is now a stronger party than it was four years ago and we intend to continue on that path.

It is no longer understood as an abstract entity, but as an organization with eight large branches that are the jewels in the crown.

-What makes you strong? What did it grow into?

-Political parties are measured by their results. Last election cycle, we won every election. The autonomous community has very important social support, which gave Juanma Moreno the freedom to become president, and gives Andalusia a stability that other autonomous communities lack.

Later, municipal elections were held, with very important results. In the national championship they won in Andalusia, and in the European championship they won eight provinces for the first time. Very positive results. There are connections that are very difficult to break.

-Is the upper limit for PP to be those 58 sitting members of parliament?

-When we go to vote, we’re not thinking about numbers, we’re thinking about whether our message will be heard, resonated, and believable. It is not a question of setting a number; ultimately Andalusians decide the number of MPs. Our duty is to ensure that this message is conveyed in the best possible way and reaches every last corner of Andalusia.

-What are your goals for the past four years as Executive Director?

-We have short, medium and long term goals. First is the election. We have been preparing for a long time. All have a common thread that leads to the conclusion of the project, and that is intimacy and listening in all regions.

What is very complicated is communicating in the best and most extensive way possible, even in one corner of Andalusia, to let them know with absolute transparency what we want from their municipality and to let them know that we are the best party to implement it. That’s the kind of trust you gain from four years of work.

-Did parliament play a role in mobilizing parties that were more or less satisfied with an absolute majority? How to revitalize?

-We have succeeded in uniting eight states with a way of working, a way of working with a common purpose. We have launched numerous projects, which means the party is active.

One of the biggest challenges a political party faces when in power is operating. Because the rational thing to do is to govern and move everything forward, leaving little time for the party to function as it would like. Splitting the government and party was a success for Juanma Moreno. It’s active rather than election-style, but it’s prepared for when they arrive. He knows what he has to do, what he has to say, and how he has to say it.

What is happening in Congress is overactivity. The adrenaline rush, the emotional impact you never expected, and you ride off like a motorcycle. But we had already had a tense match and it was overly excited.

-Do you consider yourself an advisor to a future hypothetical government?

-I believe that I am about to run an election campaign, and I am satisfied with the position I occupy. When I was working at a law firm, I never thought I would be in a situation like this. When the president appointed me, it was a big challenge. It’s been three years of very hard work with a team that has done great things and it has strengthened me and my game. And now you have more confidence and a more solid step forward.

I’m very excited for the next few years. Because I now have a different perspective and more knowledge and I know I won’t make the same mistake again.

– Is one of your biggest worries the loss of the Jaén mayor’s office?

-It’s a thorn in the side of the city. We told Jaén that they would be fooled more, but they have allowed themselves to be fooled. He has moved to the left, he has become radicalized, he has deceived the public by saying one thing and doing the opposite, and that is the reality. Jaen remains paralyzed and unable to move.

–Is there any possibility of your return?

– No, because I was deceived. We told him that he could not sign any more censure motions because a member can only sign once. As a precaution, we told the three members not to sign the petition. And I had all three of them sign it.

They were not satisfied with the People’s Party. Because they believed that their political and perhaps personal affinities did not align with their ideas.

-What details are you getting from Congress? What remains in your memory?

-We had unity, strength and a future, but most of all it was a tournament that brought tears to our eyes. In the world of politics, you don’t usually have access to hearts and emotions, but that can be invaluable.
