Madrid November 11 (Europe Press) –
The death toll from super typhoon Hung Wong passing through the northwestern Philippines has risen to 25, with a total of 19 people killed in the worst-hit Cordillera province, the Asian country’s Civil Defense Bureau confirmed.
Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV, deputy general secretary of the organization, said seven people had been added to the previous death toll. Accordingly, he said three people died in Cagayan Valley and one each in Bicol, Western Visayas and Eastern Visayas.
Similarly, Alejandro said the crash of the Hung Wong, known in the Philippines as Uwan, has left 29 people injured, two missing and 2.4 million people evacuated due to the impact, according to a report by Philippine state news agency PNA.
The typhoon is the second to hit the Philippines in recent weeks, following last week’s Karmaegi, which left more than 230 people dead, 112 missing and 512 injured, with classes and other public activities also being canceled as a precautionary measure.
