The Empress of Medellín (EPM) has announced important changes in the way it notifies users about water outages in the Abra Valley. As the company explains, the new notification scheme aims to provide more personalized, timely and accurate information to help people anticipate interruptions and organize their daily lives without getting frustrated.
“We want to leverage the latest digital tools to stay close to our users and provide timely information on affected sectors and schedules,” the company said in a statement.

from now on, EPM implements a georeferencing system that allows you to send text messages and notifications via WhatsApp.Thanks to this technology, messages are sent according to each user’s registered location, informing them in advance of the time, neighborhood and specific address affected by the interruption.

EPM recalled that its water system in the Abra Valley is one of the largest in the country, with 13 water treatment plants, 146 storage tanks and a network of more than 4,900 kilometers serving more than 1.4 million users, equivalent to more than 3.6 million people.
Service continuity is 99.48%, but the company warns that planned interruptions are necessary to ensure system quality and stability.
