GLOBO won the 2025 CNT Journalism Award in the photojournalism category for its series “Perdido Tempo” about the decommissioned Superbia train and the hardships faced by its passengers. The work was signed by Domingos Peixoto, a photographer with a career spanning 35 years, 31 of which were published in this newspaper. The image shows a series of special reports on the subject published this year, “Off the Rails,” written by reporter Marcos Nunez, a finalist in the text category of the prize. The results were announced this Tuesday.

The award recognizes media professionals who have contributed to the advancement of the industry by producing work on challenges and advances in the transportation sector.
This is the fifth time the photographer has won the award. Others were in the 1999, 2008, 2014, and 2015 editions. In the latter, work was also carried out subject to rail transport. He won with his photo “Our Daily Train”.
— The big problem is that even after 10 years, the network is still very unstable — Peixoto observes. — To do the current series, I was invited by Marcos Nunez, who I know is a rail rider. It was really cool to work with him. We woke up at dawn and headed to Japéri, intending to follow the passengers heading to central Brazil. We went 4 times.
Another GLOBO finalist is photographer Fabiano Rocha, who created “Trinqueira Carioca”, an image of passengers and drivers trying to protect themselves from gunfire on Calle Brasil during the operation in the Israeli complex.
