With six rounds left until the end of the Brazilian Championship, the race for the G-5, which guarantees a direct place in the Libertadores, is in the balance. Botafogo are in 6th place with 52 points, while Fluminense are in 7th place with 51 points. Vasco are in 10th place with 42 points after three consecutive losses and have little chance of reaching the classification zone.
According to the Brasileirão Crystal Ball Tool, developed by GLOBO in partnership with UFMG, the probability of qualifying for the Libertadores is 95.4% for Botafogo, 85.6% for Fluminense and 1.6% for Vasco.
Palmeiras and Flamengo share the lead with 68 points, with Albiverde just one win away, followed by Cruzeiro (64 points), Mirasol (59 points) and Bahia (53 points) to complete the G-5.
Botafogo and Fluminense remain close on the scoreboard and still have a solid chance of breaking into the top five. Vasco, on the other hand, faces a more difficult scenario and will need to win the majority of their remaining matches and hope for a favorable combination of results to keep their dreams of qualification alive.
In the next round, Flamengo and Fluminense will face each other at the Maracanã. Botafogo will host Sport while Vasco will visit Gremio. This result will be important in determining the possibility of direct participation in the Libertadores.
