The driver who hit a 44-year-old man and a 13-year-old teenage boy on Tuesday night (November 11) was drunk. The victims were a father and son; the father was hit and died.
The suspect ran over the victims at the 30km mark of the DF-130 at Café Sem Toroko in the rural heart of Paranoa (DF). The man ran away after punching the victims, but was found by police soon after.
When the driver was approached, he took a breathalyzer test and tested positive for alcohol. The person, whose name has not been released, was taken to Police Station 30 (San Sebastian).
According to a statement from the police department, the driver of the truck said the author passed the car off the shoulder of the road. At that moment, the car almost hit a father and son who were walking on the roadside. The truck driver also said the father saved the boy by pushing him to avoid being hit.
CBMDF was helpful
The Federal District Military Fire Department (CBMDF) was alerted and came to the aid of the 44-year-old man, who was in cardiac arrest when the military found him. “Despite all efforts, the victim was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene,” the corporation said in a statement.
