Donald Trump knew more than he was letting on. At least that’s what a new set of emails released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee reveals.
According to these messages, Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Donald Trump knew about the crimes of the deceased investor and sex offender. In three emails released, Epstein told co-defendant Ghislaine Maxwell that Trump “spent hours” with one of his victims at his home.
In two other emails to author Michael Wolff, Epstein wrote that the current president “of course knew about the girls.”
According to the messages, Epstein also asked Wolf for advice on how to handle conversations about President Trump’s friendship in an interview with CNN.
“I think it’s best to leave him alone,” Wolfe wrote. “If you say he wasn’t on the plane or home, that gives you a valuable advantage. You can hurt him in ways that might benefit you, or if he really looks like he can win, you can bail him out and create a debt.”
“The more Donald Trump tries to hide the Epstein files, the more we will discover. These latest emails and communications raise serious questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the president’s relationship with Epstein,” Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia, ranking member of the House committee, said in a statement.
After nearly two months of lethargy, the Epstein scandal has resurfaced as the House returns to vote on a bill to reopen the federal government and Mike Johnson finally certifies Democratic Rep. Adelita Grijalva of Texas.
Grijalva plans to submit the 218th signature needed to force a vote in the House to release the entire Epstein investigation file.
