According to the blog, Catandubas Prison is the same prison where Fernandinho Beira-Mar, the first inmate of the federal penal system who “inaugurated” the prison in 2006, is being held. However, they must not have contact with Beira Mar, nor with each other. The transfer was requested by the Rio government following a major operation in the Alemão and Peña complexes in Rio’s northern region that left 121 people dead. Before this incident, the state had 58 prisoners in the federal system, but that did not stop CV’s growing control.

One of the oldest members of the faction, Marco Antonio Pereira Firmino, known as My Tor, is named in the lawsuit as the head of the Morro Santo Amaro drug operation in Catete, in the southern zone. He has been imprisoned for over 23 years. My So’s first period of imprisonment was between 1988 and 1994. Two years later, he returned to the system, went on the run, and was recaptured in 2000.

He was released again and returned to prison in July 2006, where he was sentenced to 22 years and 6 months in prison. During his sentence, he spent 14 years and two months in various federal prisons. In 2021, he returned to Rio de Janeiro.

Spokesman Nauzinho sentenced to 81 years, 4 months and 20 days in prison

Arnaldo da Silva Díaz, known as Nauzinho, was convicted of drug trafficking and murder and served more than 50 years in prison. He has been appointed head of favelas in several cities south of Rio de Janeiro and spokesperson for the CV, and is responsible for issuing orders from the top to the bottom of the faction.

In February 2024, Nauzinho ordered the CV bandits to call for a cessation of banditry and war during the G20 meeting. The civil, military, federal police and the Rio Public Ministry (MPRJ) have been trying to expel him from the state for about a year. At least four requests to transfer prisoners from various agencies have been submitted to the Criminal Execution Court (VEP) since October last year, but so far without success.

Fabricio de Mello de Jesús, O Bisignho – Sentence of 65 years, 8 months, 26 days

Fabricio de Melo de Jesús, known as Visigno, is accused of being the head of drug trafficking in the Don Bosco area of Volta Redonda. As a member of the Resume Committee, he works on human trafficking and murder crimes. He was sentenced to 26 years in prison for his role in the murder of a man whose body was thrown into the Paraíba do Sul river.

Director Carlos Vinicius Lirio da Silva – 60 years in prison, April 4

Carlos Vinicius Lirio da Silva, the director of Niteroi’s Sabao shantytown, was appointed by the civilian police in 2021 to mastermind a plan to use aircraft to remove criminals from a prison in Bangu. At the time, he was serving a sentence in Jelicino Prison, so he himself would be one of the targets for rescue. Following this plan, two men from Cabeza’s gang hijacked a helicopter mid-flight in September of the same year. No rescue attempt was made as the pilot, a civilian police officer, reacted and engaged the attacker. Eventually, the plane landed at a different location and the two men fled.

Eliezer Miranda Joaquín, O Curiam – 100 years, 10 months, 15 days in prison

Known as Curiam, one of Elias Marko’s successors, he is the leader of Baixada Fluminense. Kriam has 27 criminal convictions, including drug trafficking, murder, kidnapping, and forming a private militia or paramilitary group. He had already been sentenced to 60 years in prison for a 2007 attack in which he and six other accomplices armed with rifles and shotguns executed residents who opposed the installation of smoke traps in Sant Joan de Meriti. In the same episode, he also attempted to kill a police officer and another man.

Alexander de Jesus Carlos, Shocker – Sentence of 34 years and 6 months

A member of the leadership appointed in charge of drug trafficking in Manguinhos, in the northern Rio zone, known as Choque or Koloa. In August this year, he was authorized to perform the operation at Samaritano Hospital, a high-level ward in Botafogo, in Rio’s southern district. He has already been assigned to a highly dangerous federal unit in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

Roberto de Souza Brito, Brother of Metralla – 50 years, 2 months, 20 days in prison

Known as Brother Metralla, he is a member of Commando Vermelho’s second division operating in the Complex de Alemão. He was arrested for human trafficking in 2007 and sentenced to 50 years, 2 months and 20 days.
