According to the investigation, Gilmala, who is said to be directly responsible for the transport, was hired by an intermediary to transport the goods from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro.
The plan was for an app driver to contact her upon arrival in the capital of Rio de Janeiro to collect the box and deliver it to the Complex do Alemão, the historic stronghold of the Comando Vermelho (CV) faction.
Girmala was arrested in the incident and charged with illegal firearms trafficking.
The incident occurred after weeks of surveillance by intelligence teams from Desalmers, Opera San Foco, and the 17th DP, tracing possible routes for weapons shipments to Rio.
The information led officials to the Nangapi tax office in Itaciaia, south of Rio de Janeiro, where the tour bus was captured. During the search, police found three cardboard boxes containing six pillows, which raised suspicions due to their unusual weight.
Upon opening the materials, agents discovered 30 semi-automatic pistols of various calibers and 63 magazines carefully packaged and hidden inside cushions.
Police described the shipment as weapons of war that could be supplied to entire armed groups in sectarian-controlled communities.
