Finance Minister Fernando Hadda said this Thursday (13 November) that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) has fulfilled everything he has asked for since the election campaign, casting doubt on the continuity of his presidency if he is re-elected in 2026.
Haddad said in an interview with Broadcast/Estadan that he “doesn’t know” whether he would continue as finance minister in Lula’s possible fourth term. “I don’t know if I’m going to continue working on the farm,” he said.

Haddad refutes the inspector general’s criticism, saying he sees “influenza and flu outbreaks all around the government.”
The minister said that in addition to meeting all the requirements, he was also satisfied with his performance as head of the ministry. He also said he would not comment on the possibility of a new Lula government being formed.
Haddad has been a cabinet member of the current government since the beginning of his term. He previously served as Minister of Education from 2005 to 2012 under Lula’s previous government and that of former President Dilma Rousseff (PT).
