The French team stamps their passports with a 4-0 victory. The 48-team competition has already decided the host and continental champion
The participant list for the historic 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams for the first time, is becoming increasingly complete. 29 of the 48 total spaces already have owners. The most recent country to stamp a passport was France. The French team defeated Ukraine 4-0 this Thursday (11/13) at Parque dos Principes. As a result, the team secured their place. Mbappe scored twice, including one from a beautiful penalty, and Oliseh and Ekitike secured the win.
In addition to France and the three host countries (Canada, United States and Mexico), other powers have already been decided. In South America, for example, Brazil and reigning world champion Argentina qualified. They include Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia and Paraguay. The Asian continent already has large advertising groups defined, including Japan, South Korea, Iran, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and Uzbekistan.
Traditional African teams such as Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast also confirmed their presence. So far, Cape Verde, Algeria and South Africa complete the African list. New Zealand is currently the only guaranteed representative from Oceania.
The 2026 World Cup will begin on June 11th at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The final will be held on July 19th at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
