Six people were killed and one injured in an attack linked to the war between CV (Commando Vermelho) and TCP (Terceiro Commando Puro) on Thursday night (13th) in Guadalupe, north of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the investigation, the group was attending a party in a rented penthouse above a recording studio on Calle Menezes Blum in front of Parque Madureira, near a shopping mall.
Civilian police said the victims were from the CV-dominated Palmeirinha community and had taken part in a celebration allegedly carried out by members of the sect. Witnesses reported that TCP criminals entered the premises during the party and opened fire.
Initial investigations indicate that the order for the attack appears to have been given by Colonel Bruno Silva Loureiro, who was appointed one of the leaders of Mukiso’s rival group and was being investigated for the murder of Cámara senator and young star Barroso dos Santos in August.
A military police report said a team from 41 BPM (Iraja) was called to check reports of firing in the area. When investigators arrived at the address, they found five victims dead and isolated the space for forensic examination. The body of a sixth man was later discovered.
A seventh man was hit and taken to Carlos Chagas Hospital in Marechal Hermes. The identities and conditions of the injured have not been released.
Homicide police in the capital launched an investigation to unravel the sequence of events and confirmed the identities of five of the deceased: Mateus Gómez da Silva Andrade, Moises Custodio da Silva, Yuri de Andrade Reis, Caio José Ballerini de Oliveira López, and Keiki Roberto Lino dos Santos. The identity of the sixth person is still unknown.
Civilian police reported that investigations at the scene have been completed and teams are continuing efforts to find and hold those responsible for the attack accountable.
