A statement by Mariana Uhlmann, wife of actor Felipe Simas, recently became a hot topic on social media. At the time, she said she was already “praying” that the celebrity, who plays Danilo in the TV Globo soap opera “Dona de Mim” and Daniel Clavinhos in the Prime Video series “Tremembe,” would not get a role on TV. This Friday (November 14th), he spoke out.

Felipe Simas says he considered giving up on his acting career after making the switch
family discussion
Earlier this month, Mariana appeared on a podcast and said she prayed that her husband would not get the role. “There were some jobs that I prayed wouldn’t happen and the door would close. One job, when he got the job, I said I don’t know if I want him to do it and the door closed,” he said.
Felipe Simas spoke about this issue in an interview with O Globo newspaper. The actor, who is also a father of three children (Joaquín, 11, Maria, 8, and Vicente, 5), said he keeps disputes to a minimum and that work-related issues are discussed at home and decided within the family.
“Here at home, everything is on the table. All our decisions are made together. Last year I spent almost nine months recording outside of Rio. So if I, as a partner, don’t look at her and say, ‘Are you okay? Can I go?’, there’s no point in being together because I would be putting too much strain on her,” he said.

family above all
For an actor, family comes before any work. “I only feel safe going if I see and feel everything is okay. If at some point she says, ‘I’m not good enough,’ I won’t go. My family comes before my job. There’s no question about that. I have many jobs, but only one family. I can do other things to make a living.”
Felipe Simas also emphasized that the recording of the soap opera has changed his daily life, which has also affected his wife and children. “I’ve missed some of my kids’ school shows, been late for dinner, and been recording late into the night, so I haven’t put my kids to bed in days,” he said.
“But like any other job, it is what gave us sustenance. So we can’t complain about what sustained us,” he stressed.
future career
Regarding his career, the artist said that he has revealed his desire to return to the theater after finishing the recording of “Dona de Mim” in Globo. “It was something that resonated with me and that’s what I wanted,” he said.
“Now that I’m 32, I want to stretch my mind a little bit, my gestures, my voice…I started in theater, then went to film and television. Once I got into television, I started working one job after another. I miss the routine of the theater season: the ritual, the repetition, and seeing the same seats with different people,” he concluded.
