John Texter pushed for major changes to control of Eagle Football Holdings (EFH) this Friday. The American removed one of the holding company’s key figures, Michelle Kang, and four other investors from its board of directors. Nevertheless, Mr. Kang remains president and manager of Lyon’s day-to-day operations.
In addition to this businessman, Samuel Oliver Lin, Alexander Barfer, David Horin and Jean-Pierre Conte, who left EFH, were among the holding company’s investors closest to Botafogo, with Conte meeting with the president of the social club, João Paulo Magalhães, to consider possible directions for SAF Albinegra without his representative, John Texter.
Behind the scenes, word is that John Texter’s changes to the board were to remove people who did not align with the practices the American businessman wanted for Eagle Football Holdings. With Lyon no longer in charge of the club, and Botafogo, where battles are being waged in the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice (TJRJ), Texter has distanced himself from his former advisers amid a war with ousted shareholders.
John Texter has appointed a further five new directors to the Eagle Football Holdings board on behalf of five investors. All held the title of “founding director” of the company.
