Judge Dana agreed to allow Vicente Mompo, the spokesperson for the president of the Valencian regional parliament, to testify as a witness. The judge therefore invoked one of the common charges in the Dana case and accepted the diligence demanded by the compromising side, which claimed in its brief that the spokesperson was present at certain moments of the Joint Operations Coordination Center (Sekopi) meeting. As reported by this newspaper, he also took document images of the meeting.
The order, issued this Friday, agrees to summon as witnesses two journalists who are part of the Emergency Press Director’s public relations team who were on duty that day.
On the other hand, the magistrate also accepted the diligence required by Intersyndical, which carried out one of the common accusations in this case, whereby the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat identified “all” intermediary centers for telecare services.
It also asks the Emergencies Authority to provide the agreements signed with the winning companies “to carry out the functions entrusted to them by the Government of Valenciana”.
Finally, the ruling asks the Emergency Department, headed by Juan Carlos Valderrama, to report whether there were “any specific orders” addressed to the intermediation center of telecare services on October 28 and 29, 2024, the day before and the day of the Dana disaster, in which 229 people died.
The judge will determine whether advance notice was given “directly or through relatives” of the harm to telecare users.
