Businessman Luis Eduardo Estevan Lira enters politics. He will join PP next Wednesday (11/19) with the aim of building bridges between young people and decisions that affect society as a whole.
Luis Eduardo will become president of the Young Progressives Group in order to develop leadership and expand the electoral base. The newcomer, who is the grandson of two former senators (Luis Estevan and Raimundo Lira) and has a strong family history, said he would champion policies that produce consistent results and change lives, including investments in training, job opportunities and improvements in various areas such as health, sports and culture.
“I intend to contribute to a better DF, bridging young people and the decisions that shape our everyday lives. This means championing policies that have a real impact on people’s lives, including expanding opportunities for young people in the job market, and investing in education and skills, sport, culture and entrepreneurship. My focus is on efficiency and results, and I will seek to bring the public closer to politics. I will demand transparency and propose solutions to problems that we already know well. For businessmen, young people have a fundamental role to play in developing innovative policies that can transform the present and secure a better future. “We are a generation that grew up aware, connected and informed of the changes that the future requires,” he said.
“I think there are three ways young people can change politics: genuine participation that takes up space within political parties, movements and institutions, ownership that brings contemporary themes such as innovation, sustainability and technology, and setting an example and showing that it is possible to conduct politics with ethics, preparedness and purpose, without repeating the mistakes of the past,” he declared.
The new PP members want the party’s youth to be “recognized not only as a place of political formation, but also as a movement of action, innovation and hope.”
“My hope in starting my political career and joining the PP is to pave the way for active and responsible participation in the construction of what I believe is a federal region. I see this membership as a promise not only to the party but also to those who expect more efficient and transparent current policies,” he said.
