Between shapes, graphic lines and flowing fabrics, Miwa brought performance to the pieces presented during the Metropoles catwalk. The show brought an experimental touch to the catwalk with clothes that played with tailoring in deconstructed form. A variety of Brazilian brands flooded the federal capital during Brasilia Fashion Week, which took place from November 3rd to 7th at the Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro.

Investing in a variety of sewing techniques, the garments in the Origami collection are molded around the mannequin’s body or in repeating geometric patterns through moulage and origami tessellation. Titled “Origami,” the collection featured moving sculptures with the theme of “transformation of existence.”

With a minimalist design, the pieces brought to you by stylist Carol Nemoto are made from sustainable fabrics. The designer uses recycled vintage pieces as well as fabrics made from Egyptian cotton yarn to create clothing using the cotton method. upcycle. Some of the pieces the label brought to the Metropoles catwalk on November 6 were created from scratch just for the parade.

In collaboration with Outer Shoes, Miwa outfitted models with pieces that harmonize with the collection. These include women’s heeled sandals, off-white boots, and men’s shoes that move between social and casual, such as cube sandals and Bosco, Tarso, and Vento shoes. Colors such as sage green and coffee are also being considered in the work.
Origami collection pieces
A catwalk in the foyer of the Villa-Lobos room highlighted naturally dyed pure silk during the brand’s performance. The concept of Japanese folding art was clearly expressed in a sky blue piece accompanied by a satin skirt. Its silk is pure Italian and petroleum green.

For accessories, Miwa brought in checkered designer bags inspired by Japanese cloth bundles. Its original function is to tie lunch boxes.

At the end of the show, Carol presented the Elevation Dress, a piece created using moulage, a three-dimensional modeling technique used in bespoke fashion. This asymmetrical composition leaves the shoulders exposed and balances the sleeves and maxi drape on the left hip.

About Metropoles Catwalk
A stylish program of parades, exhibitions, conversation circles and workshops marked the inaugural edition of the Metropole Catwalk from November 3 to 7 at the Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro in Brasilia. On the catwalks, famous local and national brands presented their collections, making the federal capital the center of attention for Brazil’s fashion world. The model cast included 70 talents, 40 of whom were local.
The Metropole Catwalk, organized by the Imbras Institute in partnership with the Metropole and with support from the Tourism Board, the Federal District Cultural Secretariat and the Banco BRB, was one of the first major events to occupy the National Theater since its reopening.
