The Ministry of Health, Presidency and Emergencies has completed the expansion of the Montilla Hospital, which is currently undergoing administrative certification, and has allocated the following budget: 4,094,059.91 euros. This measure enabled the construction of many more new buildings. … Aiming to improve the care capacity and functionality of the centre, the 2,400 square meter site is divided into two floors and a basement, primarily intended for outpatient consultations, examination rooms and medical sleeping areas.
The work incorporates two modules connected to the hospital and placed on either side of the main entrance. One of them is New external consultation moduleThe site will have a site area of 1,062.87 square meters and will have 14 examination rooms and six examination rooms in specialties such as pediatrics, internal medicine, gastroenterology, urology, ophthalmology, traumatology, and dermatology.
In another module, new examination and extraction rooms and a telemedicine room will be located on the ground floor, while the upper floor of 487 square meters is intended for the rest of medical workers and has 15 rooms and two terraces. Both modules are 79m2 covered walkwayensuring functional connectivity between buildings.
This work, in addition to plans to update the hospital’s equipment and furniture with an additional investment of EUR 1,540,792.70, is currently underway and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2025. This measure will strengthen the center’s technological modernization and improve its diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in various fields.
One of the most notable investments is the provision of new equipment for ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology. The amount is 485,000 eurosThis includes updating surgical microscopes, ophthalmic lasers, and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
Material renewal
The gastrointestinal and respiratory diagnostic equipment has also been updated. Investment of 350,000 eurosthrough the acquisition of new endoscopy towers and advanced equipment for respiratory and bronchoscopy.
This plan also considers: Modernization of respiratory function exploration areaa plethysmography cabin costing 73,810 euros and an update of radiodiagnostic and mammography equipment with a budget of 52,030 euros, allowing for more accurate and agile visualization of images.
These investments are Total amount over 5.6 million eurosintegrating the Montilla Hospital as a regional reference center, improving the quality of care and strengthening health care in southern Campinha.
