Global education has undergone significant changes in recent decades, especially in the past five years. On the one hand, more flexible methodologies, continuous assessment and approaches that facilitate the learning process of students. on the one hand, … The emergence of artificial intelligence that does not undo anything. However, this quest to promote learning is legitimate and, in my view, leaves fundamental principles aside. If you want learning to be real and permanent, it takes effort, sacrifice, and discipline.. And this should be remembered when celebrating Education Day.
It’s not about complicating life or punishing students; Understand that the path to excellence and achieving the best results is not easy.. It is important that children learn to persevere in the face of difficulties. It’s about learning to persevere in the face of hardship, whether the child wants to be there all the time or not. Considering the impact that digital screens have on the brain development of children and adolescents today, this ability is severely impaired due to the need to spend time and attention on each task. It’s about correcting mistakes and helping them understand that it’s not just about compliance, it’s about doing a good job. These are values that go far beyond the classroom and are foundational tools for them throughout their lives.

Effort is necessary not only to acquire knowledge, but also to develop character. When students understand that success requires perseverance, they develop self-esteem and become more resilient in the face of failure and frustration. The satisfaction of accomplishing something through honest work is incomparable to the easy, low-hanging fruit they are used to, and they quickly find themselves feeling empty again. In this sense, educators have the dual responsibility of disseminating content while also developing human resources who can face the challenges that await them.
We recognize that today’s society demands and values speed and immediate results. but, True education cannot be sacrificed on the altar of immediacy. History has shown us that great achievements, whether in science, art, or sports, are the result of years of silent work, routines that may seem boring, and lots of discipline and perseverance. Students must learn to appreciate and appreciate this process.
Bringing back effort-based education does not mean returning to authoritarian or rigid methods. It means teaching study habits, stimulating curiosity, and above all allowing students to internalize and experience the value of self-improvement. A well-completed project, a rigorously prepared exam over time, a patiently practiced sport – all this makes it possible to develop responsible human resources who, when they grow up, will contribute to building a better society.
In conclusion, we need to remember the following: Discipline and sacrifice are not limitations, but rather values that allow us to become more free. Those who learn to work steadily and delay immediate gratification become masters of their time, their abilities, and ultimately their destiny. Effort-based education is now more than ever a lifelong education.
