Madrid, November 12 (Europe Press) –
A U.S. House of Representatives committee on Wednesday released a series of emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, in which he said the current occupant of the White House, Donald Trump, “spent hours” with one of his victims.
Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released three letters between Epstein and his former partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for providing a conspiracy for teenage girls to be sexually abused, and columnist and author Michael Wolff.
In these private conversations, Epstein said that in 2011, Trump “spent hours” with sex trafficking victims at his home. In a 2019 email, Epstein made it clear that Trump “knew about the girls.”
“I want you to understand that the dog that isn’t barking is Trump.[The victim]spent hours with him at my house and he never mentioned it (…),” the April 2011 email said. To which Maxwell replied, “I’ve been thinking about that…”
In another message, this time from December 2015, Mr. Wolf warned that it was his understanding that the CNN television network was “going to ask Mr. Trump questions about their relationship tonight.” “If you could write him a response, what do you think you should write?” Mr. Epstein responded. Afterwards, the reporter said, “You should just leave it alone.”
“If you say he wasn’t on the plane or home, that’s a valuable public relations and political advantage. You can hurt him in ways that might benefit you, or if he really looks like he’s going to win, you can help him and create debt. Of course, if asked, you could say Jeffrey is a good person, that he’s been treated unfairly, that he’s a victim of political correctness, but in the Trump administration that would be illegal.”
Years later, in January 2019, Mr. Epstein said in a new email to Mr. Wolf, “Mr. Trump told me to resign and never be a member again. Of course, he knew about the girls because he had asked Mr. Ghislaine to stop.”
“Defaming the President”
Following the release of these documents, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt stated that “Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media in order to create a false narrative to smear the President,” believing that “these narratives are nothing more than a malicious attempt to divert attention from the President’s accomplishments.”
“The ‘anonymous victim’ mentioned was the late Virginia Giuffre, and he reiterated that Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing and that he “couldn’t have been nicer” to her in one of their few interactions. “The truth is that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for harassing employees, including Mr. Giuffre,” she said.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sexually abusing and trafficking dozens of girls in the early 2000s. The billionaire, who has socialized with celebrities including Britain’s Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles III, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, was found hanged in his cell.
