US President Donald Trump is Accuses Democrats of trying to ‘divert’ attention and other issues related to the release of compromised emails from deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“Democrats are trying to bring back the Jeffrey Epstein hoax because they’ll do anything to distract from how bad they did with the government shutdown and so many other issues,” Trump said on Truth Social, alluding to the nation’s 40-day budget paralysis, which he blames on the opposition.
Previously, the White House had defended the president with the same claim, accusing him: “selectively” filtered Emails attempting to tarnish the president’s image.
“Democrats selectively leaked emails to progressive media outlets in order to create a false narrative to smear President Trump,” White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said in a statement.
Leavitt revealed that the victim mentioned in the email was Virginia Giuffre.was a former employee of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club who committed suicide last April after accusing Epstein of sexual abuse.
“The truth is that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of the club decades ago for harassing female employees, including Giuffre,” Levitt added.
Documents leaked by Democratic lawmakers this Wednesday reveal conversations in which Mr. Epstein suggested: Trump was aware of his abuse and acknowledged that the current president would have spent “hours and hours” on it. Virginia Giuffre’s name was redacted, but the conversation was with one of the victims.
The three emails are dated 2011, 2015, and 2019. They are part of more than 20,000 files obtained by the House Oversight Committee from Mr. Epstein’s estate as part of its investigation into the late tycoon and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, who have been indicted on human trafficking charges.
Republicans on the committee accused Democrats of intentionally censoring Virginia Giuffre’s name in the leak because she had “publicly stated that she had never witnessed any wrongdoing by President Trump.”
