of mexican supreme court This Thursday, they attacked Ricardo Salinas Priego, one of the country’s leading businessmen. The Supreme Court works closely with the Claudia Sheinbaum government. Charge millionaire with approximately 1.5 billion in debt … EUR.

Salinas Priego is the owner of TV Azteca, a television channel that has been critical of Sheinbaum. According to Forbes magazine His net worth is approximately $5.5 billion.. In addition to media, we also invest in strategic sectors such as banking, telecommunications, mass consumption, and oil services.

In recent years, Salinas Priego has habitual critic of the ruling partyboth former President Andres Manuel López Obrador and Sheinbaum, the Mexican press began to think of it as: potential opposition candidate.

The strongman singled out both governments over tax collection, insecurity and, most high-profile, corruption scandals. It is in this context that the judicial resolution against him is known.

This Thursday, the Court of Justice dismissed the businessman’s last appeal against seven tax credits worth an initial amount of approximately P33.477 billion. 1.5 billion euros.

The court unanimously ruled that none of Salinas Priego’s appeals raised new or relevant questions of constitutional interpretation and therefore did not merit substantive consideration.

Therefore, the Supreme Court did not issue any judgment on the legality of the Mexican Taxation Agency’s resolution, which had already been considered and confirmed by several collegial courts. None of the ministers argued in favor of the complaining companies, and the intervention only summarized the project and called for a few minor amendments.

Once the court notifies the court of its decision, the government will be able to carry out forced debt recovery, either directly into the company’s accounts or by auctioning off real estate and other assets seized as collateral during litigation, some of which are more than 10 years old.

The above is a case where the company does not voluntarily pay. In October, Salinas Priego proposed payments of up to 8.964 billion pesos (about 400 million euros) worldwide.

Salinas Priego reported that they plan to file a complaint with an international organization. “The resolutions now issued compel us to resort to other means, even at the international level, with the aim of ensuring full guarantees and protection of our human rights, demanding the elimination of unconstitutional double charges and unjustified fines, and presenting before the eyes of the world all evidence of systematic political persecution.”

“Likewise, we continue to wait for the response from the Tax Administration Authority (SAT) to our request to quantify the amount of tax deductions without double and illegal claims in accordance with the law and its own resolutions. Their administrative silence and delay in our process only confirms the sloganeering and political motives on the part of the federal government,” he added.
