Parents and students confront the owner in the classroom/EL DIA
Students and parents at several schools in the city reported that after paying for the rental of a room where they were planning a celebration related to their promotion to secondary level, they were told that they could not hold the party because the location did not have a permit. The situation, reported in the newspaper, sparked a violent conflict between representatives of these communities and a person who claimed to be the owner of the store at 122nd and 58th Streets, known as “El Limite”.
The party was canceled due to electrical damage, as the property owner notified parents 24 hours before the celebration.
The novelty shocked and outraged the 10 schools involved with a “pre-promotional” party proposing to celebrate courses graduating in 2026. Everything was ready for fun. The contract signed in May required 12 million pesos, which they collected and paid. As the parents explained to the newspaper, the contract included a license to use the facility expiring in August. They never imagined that new ones are not available now. There are also agreements in place with other schools that will last until the end of the year.
In response to this newspaper’s inquiries, the city of Beriso acknowledged that the property was handicapped and said the case was pending in Misdemeanor Court No. 2 as a result.
The night before, parents and students held a protest at the venue where the content of the party was decided. The solution was to move to another location of the same company. The idea didn’t match. “The price of the room they offer us is P800,000 and we will pay P12 million,” said a spokesperson for the group. In the end, the party was held last night, but the group has vowed to continue their case before a judge.
