The situation in the province of Avila after heavy rains caused by the passage of Storm Claudia has improved after a difficult night, especially in the flooded areas of Tormes.

According to a report by regional representatives on the board: … Castilla y Leon, Jose Francisco Hernández, first thing this morning. “The situation has improved in the last few hours.”However, as a precautionary measure, Level 2 of the Inuncil Plan and Cecopi established in case of any incident that may occur will be maintained.

School activities and transport routes will therefore continue as usual, although caution is advised, especially when traveling early in the morning, as the Tormes River, which passes through Puente Congosto in Salamanca, was already at red level, according to the Duero Hydrographic Federation. It has a flow rate of 970.45 cubic meters; However, it tends to be stable.

The Tormes spilled from the Avila ship during the night, but no casualties have been reported so far. Due to the heavy rains, a red notice has been issued in the south of Ávila, which had to alert citizens by sending alerts to their mobile phones, while a red notice has also been issued in the north of Cáceres, which will turn yellow this Friday.

Several roads were closed overnight due to heavy rain, which is expected to reduce throughout this Friday.
