The second half of the 2025 National High School Entrance Examination, which is feared by many students, will be held next Sunday, the 16th. On the second day of Enem, candidates face questions in mathematics and natural sciences. A proper testing strategy is essential to ensure good performance at this stage.

This test strategy will not only help you organize your time for a total of 5 hours on Enem Day 2, but it will also help you feel less nervous about the questions, know which questions to answer first, and increase your chances of getting them right and passing.

As the test approaches, Victor Lemos, general director of Anglocourses, and Daniel Reis, education coordinator at Vestibular Strategies, have provided valuable tips to help you plan your strategy for the second day of the test. Shall we check it out?

1 – Break the test into blocks of questions

Viktor recommends that students organize their question solutions into blocks. Like this? Let’s take an example:

  • Ask me 15 math questions.
  • Next, we will ask you 15 questions related to natural science.
  • Then solve 15 more math problems.
  • etc., alternating between areas.

“The suggestion is to vary the blocks so as not to overload a single knowledge area and help students maintain their attention and concentration during the exam. This will help avoid mental fatigue during the exam,” explains the expert.

2 – Reading Strategies During Tests

For Daniel, one way to save time when solving problems is to start by reading the question command, read the choices, and then move on to the base text.

“Students will be able to read more appropriately and will not be distracted by information that is not necessary for the answer,” advises the Educational Coordinator.

3 – pay special attention to mathematics

According to the General Director of Anglocourses, it is important that test takers pay close attention to the subject of Mathematics, as historically Enem subject grades have tended to be the highest, close to the maximum score (1,000 points).

For example, in Enem 2024, the highest score received by a participant who answered all questions correctly was almost 962 points. “Therefore, it is strategic to prioritize mathematics when planning tests,” he emphasizes.

4 – Leave the natural sciences for last, if necessary

If candidates have little time to complete many questions, Viktor’s advice is to leave the natural science questions until last, rather than the math questions.

“It is important to remember that mathematics is given greater weight when calculating the final grade through Item Response Theory (IRT),” he says.

Day 2 of Enem 2025

The second part of Enem 2025 will be held next Sunday, the 16th, in several cities across the country. Candidates face 45 math questions and 45 natural science questions over five hours.

Last Sunday, on the 9th, the first day of the exam, test takers wrote an essay on the theme of “Perspectives on Aging in Brazilian Society,” and answered 45 questions related to language and 45 questions related to human science.

In Belém, Ananindeua and Marituba (Pennsylvania), in conjunction with the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) being held in the region, this year’s edition will apply during the regular exam application period on November 30th and December 7th.
