Author and sociologist Reginald Prandi welcomed guests to an event celebrating the publication of his book Orixás – Os Deuses que Dwell em Nós on Wednesday (12th) at the Travessa Library in the Pinheiros district of São Paulo.
USP (University of São Paulo) Vice President Maria Arminda attended the presentation. The film’s editor, Stephanie Roque, and theater director, Ricardo Gamba, were also in attendance.
In his work published by Companhia das Letras, Purandi reconsiders Yoruba mythology derived from the 18 orishas, exploring the virtues, dilemmas, and symbolic connections of these gods to human subjectivity.
