A Federal Police (PF) investigation that led to charges of coercion against Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL), on trial at the Federal Supreme Court (STF), revealed moments of tension between the deputy and his father, Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
WhatsApp messages published by PF on August 20 showed insults by the 03-year-old son towards the patriarch, including words such as “VTNC” (an abbreviation for insult) and “fucking ungrateful”.
The episode came after the former president commented in an interview about Eduardo’s exchange of criticism with São Paulo state governor Tarcisio de Freitas (Republican), saying his son was “not very mature” politically.
This comment infuriated Eduardo, who responded with name-calling and threats against his father. He said he had already overcome his differences with Tarcisio but was considering “dealing another blow to Bolsonaro” after Bolsonaro’s speech.
“I was going to put Tarcisio aside, but I appreciate the compliment you gave me on Poder 360 (sic) and I’m seriously thinking of punching him again to see if you learn (sic). VTNC (thoroughly covered), you damn ungrateful!,” the federal lawmaker said in a message sent to his father via WhatsApp.
In the same message exchange, the authorized representative said that, according to the PF, he may abandon cooperation with US authorities seeking retaliation for their interference in Jair Bolsonaro’s trial.

“If your immature 40-year-old son can’t meet the guys here, you’re the one who’s going to be screwed because you’re going to throw me down. And you’re going to ruin the rest of my life with this shitty thing here,” Eduardo wrote. “Please be responsible!”

The next day, June 16, Eduardo changed his mind and apologized. He admitted the message “got heavy” and claimed he was “pissed off” when he wrote it.
