A woman who was attacked by her partner in October last year was found in a critical condition by Mossos on the street in the Sant Martí district on Friday and died in a Barcelona hospital, where she had been hospitalized for a month.
As a result of the October incident, Mossos launched an investigation and arrested the alleged perpetrator in the incident, who was the victim’s partner. The detainee was tried as the perpetrator of attempted murder. On Friday, the Mossos were informed of the woman’s death.
The victim had already suffered another attack by her partner in August last year. Even though the woman did not want to report the incident, a protection and isolation order was issued in her favor. The case was initially initiated as a crime of abuse.
On October 19th, this same man was arrested for violating a restraining order and assaulting the same victim. The court agreed to a provisional arrest and the case was opened for breach of precautionary measures and attempted murder.
The Badalona court investigating the case is currently waiting to receive the documents necessary to adapt the charges to the current circumstances of the victim’s death in the attack last October.
