Yara has signed the first commercial agreement to use Yara Climate Choice fertilizers in tea cultivation in Argentina. This is a step that positions Misiones as a pioneering state in the transition to low-emission agriculture.

These fertilizers are new generationWhile maintaining the same chemical composition and quality as the products the company currently sells in Argentina, Differentiation through manufacturing processes that use renewable energy. This allows greenhouse gas emissions associated with crop nutrition to be reduced by 80% to 90% without changing management practices or sacrificing performance.

In the case of tea, this progress means tangible improvements in product traceability and sustainability, elements that are increasingly valued in international markets. By reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the sourceMisiones has established itself as a regional benchmark in the responsible production of black tea and yerba mate. Two crops that represent this state.

For Yara, this achievement strengthens the expansion of the Yara Climate Choice initiative in Argentina and Latin America, which aims to accompany producers and companies in the transition to more sustainable production systems, demonstrating that environmental impact can be reduced without sacrificing efficiency or quality.

This cooperation model paves the way for other agricultural sectors to adopt low-emission practices, promoting more sustainable and globally competitive food chains.

Yara is a Norwegian company founded in 1905. The company has 17,000 employees and operates in more than 60 countries. In 2024, Yara reported revenue of $13.9 billion.
