On Monday (10/11), an attempted residential robbery in northern Sao Paulo ended with the perpetrator’s car overturning. Two suspects were arrested. The third person involved managed to escape and remains at large.
Security camera footage showed two suspects attempting to break into a home in the Santana area. When the owners arrived at the property, they were caught running away. Another camera on Calle Conselheiro Saraiva showed the getaway vehicle overturned and the three attackers running on foot.

According to the Secretariat of Public Safety (SSP), Military Police (PM) personnel were on patrol when they received a report that two men had abandoned their motorcycles and fled towards a workshop. When police managed to close in on the suspects, they discovered that the motorcycle had been overturned and stolen during a previous attempt to flee from a burglary.
Caught red-handed
- Two men, aged 29 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and attempted burglary.
- The two were taken to the police station, where they were handed over to a judge.
- The third suspect involved in the incident managed to escape.
- The owner of the motorcycle reported that he saw the vehicle overturn during a traffic stop and stopped. The thieves got out of the car, stole a motorcycle and fled.
- It was later determined that the overturned vehicle was also stolen and had signs of foul play.
- Forensic detectives were called and the incident was recorded as vehicle theft, vehicle identification tag tampering, vehicle receiving and attempted theft at 72nd DP (Villa Penteado).
