Judge Mackintuck and defender Dario Saldano/Adrien Sosa
“Manipulative, liar. She deceived us all the time.” Those words still echo in the ears of Judge Julietta Mackintuck, who was accused of gross misconduct in the performance of her duties. Nothing more, nothing less, when she was on the trial jury, judging several medical professionals in the death of Diego Armando Maradona, who could have been removed from office. But as if he were a boxer heading to the ropes, in the last few hours he has become more well-known and has clearly started playing harder. Speaking to the press before a new hearing in La Plata, she even accused the person who had uttered the derogatory words, Judge Maximiliano Savarino, of false testimony.
Based on a presentation submitted to the public prosecutor’s office by Alvaro Garganta, head of UFI No. 11 of the city, obtained by this newspaper, Mr. Macintuck pointed out that his colleague, in a letter dated June 9, 2025 and signed in his own handwriting, said: I didn’t see them on the left side of the room, in the last or second last row. If I had seen it, I would have brought it to their attention and prevented them from doing so (…) I did not know that there was a hidden filming that was exclusively responsible for Dr. Julietta Mackintuck, a judge of the San Isidro 2nd Criminal Court. ”
Dr. Savarino then claimed that “even the jury members in the trial gave their testimonial statements under oath to tell the truth, during which they repeatedly stated that they were not aware of the presence of the camera and that if they had seen it, it would have drawn their attention.And at no time during the first session of the trial of Diego Armando Maradona, on March 11, did Dr. Minici, the court clerk, tell him anything related to the fact that the incident had taken place.” The person was recording the debate, but it was several days later. ”
Therefore, for Mackintuck, “the contradictions presented are sufficient to state at this stage that Dr. Savarino gave false testimony before the Provincial Prosecution Jury of Buenos Aires.”
Given these circumstances, and on behalf of attorney Dario Saldaño, he requested the Garganta prosecutor to prove the charges by requesting the prosecutor’s jury to send them the minutes corresponding to the November 10, 2025 hearing in which Mr. Savarino testified and to order them to send a certified copy of Dr. Laura Soledad Minichi’s statement (Deputy Secretary Ext. 3000-22059-2025). ), in the case of SJ 732/25, incorporating the certified copy of the brief presented by Savarino on 9 June 2025. ”
She also requested that the charges be urgently subpoenaed to approve the charges and that an immediate investigation be ordered into the possible commission of the crime of false testimony.
A similar request against Mr. Savarino was made by Mr. Saldaño before the jury, but President Hilda Kogan rejected the motion, presumably without knowing that the documents had already been submitted to the prosecutor’s office on duty.
