Canadian influencer Cameron Golinski, 35, reported on October 26th that he was a victim of the “Boa Noite Cinderella” scam in Ipanema, south of Rio de Janeiro.
According to a report published on his social networks and confirmed in a statement to civilian police, he believes he was drugged, robbed and sexually assaulted by two men.
The case was registered at Police Station 12 (Copacabana) and is being investigated by the Tourism Assistance Police Department (DEAT) and the Crimes Against Sexual Dignity Police Department.

Prime Minister David Cameron said he met the two suspects at an outdoor bar in Ipanema. The bar was a place he had frequented since arriving in Brazil in February to learn Portuguese and create a video blog about Brazil.
“Two men approached me, started talking, and asked me out for a beer. I’ve had other things like this happen, so I didn’t think it was suspicious,” the Canadian wrote online.
According to him, he felt “strangely drunk” after drinking, even though he had hardly consumed any alcohol. The suspects then took him to the apartment where he was staying.
The influencer reported waking up two days later to find herself naked in bed, with signs of violence, and a completely changed environment.
“They drugged me to unconsciousness and stole all my money and cell phone. Evidence suggests I was sexually assaulted,” he wrote.
Account theft and hacking
Prime Minister Cameron said he lost about US$3,000 (about R16,000) and that his bank and email accounts were hacked. The attackers may have changed passwords, biometric data, and digital access, making it impossible to quickly recover financial information.
After regaining consciousness, the tourist went to the Canadian consulate, received preventive medication, and filed a formal complaint with the civilian police, who accepted his statement and conducted a forensic examination.

Despite the trauma, the Canadian, who has lived in Brazil for nine months, stressed defending his country and thanked his Brazilian friends for their help after the attack.
“This was the most shocking experience of my life, but it was the work of two evil men who were not Brazilian. My Brazilian friends were wonderful and helped me with food, banking, rent, cleaning, etc.,” he said.
Mr. Golinski said he planned to leave Brazil and travel to Los Angeles, then return to Vancouver, where he would seek psychological support and assess his financial losses.
