It was a great novelty. For the first time in weeks, there were no political surprises over the weekend or in the days leading up to it. There were no elections. There will be no cabinet changes. There is no financial hardship. There are no remedies. There were no unexpected resignations. After just a few fights, my phone screen didn’t crack. It also obviously includes the occasional insult to the opponent. And to a stable cast of abused and mistreated economists, critical journalists, and opposing politicians. Or there could be a conflict. On a positive note, a super classic between Boca and River took place. This caught the attention of the entire football world and then some. This is as polarizing as politics is, but there are no half-plus-one fans on either side. Not at all.
Has normalcy returned to Argentina? It’s better not to rush. I needed a break. Those studying social networks have noticed a decline in conversations about politics, which was already a minority. No matter how hard you train, no body can withstand an ultra-marathon that shakes you like this. But don’t relax. There is still much work to be done. In the meantime, enjoy this mini oasis. The normality was so exceptional that it gave some people goosebumps. No mention of soccer.
