Sonia Abrahão’s name is once again at the center of controversy with the premiere of the documentary Caso Eloá – Refém ao Vivo, which will premiere on Netflix this Wednesday (12/11). The film revisits one of the most shocking episodes in Brazil’s recent history, the kidnapping and murder of teenager Eloa Cristina Pimentel in 2008, and reignites debate about the role of the press in times of crisis.
At the time, the country was tracking in real time the more than 100 hours in which 15-year-old Eloa was held hostage by her ex-boyfriend Lindenberg Alves in Santo Andre (SP).
