The Doctors’ Forum on Wednesday expressed its support for a new mobilization called for in the coming weeks by the Confederation of Spanish Medical Unions (CESM) and the Andalusian Medical Association (SMA). The mobilization took the form of a demonstration in Madrid on November 15 and a four-day nationwide strike from December 9 to 12, both actions part of a mobilization campaign that began in January to demonstrate rejection of the draft framework ordinance submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Health is going to approve.
“The lack of progress between the Strike Committee and the Ministry has led the Forum organizations to maintain their previously expressed position that they consider the proposals to improve the working conditions of professionals and guarantee the best possible quality of care to the public as insufficient,” the Forum explained.
Similarly, they remember that the best way to attract and retain talent in the national health system to provide better care for patients is to develop “specific regulations” that “adequately regulate groups and ensure quality of care, professional excellence, social media efficiency, and patient safety.”
Therefore, in view of the “lack of progress” in the negotiations, as was the case at the start of the mobilization and during the first two days of the strike on June 13th and October 3rd, the Forum organization supports both the demonstration called in Madrid next Saturday, November 15th, and the four consecutive days of nationwide strikes to take place on December 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.
The action calls on all social media professionals to participate as a way to “demonstrate group unity” in rejecting the draft standard, which they continue to believe is “insufficient” for the improvements they demand.
