Jakarta (ANTARA) – Actress and singer Hilary Duff just released a song and music video titled “Mature” after a decade-long music hiatus on Thursday night (11/6).
“Mature” is a pop-rock song in which the 38-year-old singer reflects on his past and present self.
“‘Mature’ is a short conversation between my current self and my younger self,” Hilary said in a statement, reported by Billboard.
According to E! Online, the release of the song “Mature” marks a more confident and mature version from the Disney star who plays the title character in the “Lizzie McGuire” series.
In the music video, directed by Lauren Dunn, Hilary wears a gold minidress with tassel details and a fur coat, standing in front of a mirror preparing to go on stage.
When he finally took the theater stage to perform, there was only one person in the audience, namely himself, who was wearing a leather coat. The two versions of Ilario seem to depict moments of reflection with herself.
Hilary wrote the song with her husband, none other than music producer, Matthew Koma; as well as singer-songwriter Madison Love. The news of the song’s release was announced earlier by Hilary on her personal Instagram account on Monday (11/3).
In the future, Hilary is reportedly preparing a documentary series that will tell the story of her personal journey and her long-awaited return to the world of music.
The last album Hilary released was “Breathe In. Breathe Out” in June 2015. After that, the mother of four focused more on acting in different roles, such as in the TV series “How I Met Your Father” and “Younger”.
Hilary is widely known thanks to the Disney series “Lizzie McGuire” which aired in the early 2000s. She then moved on to pop music and managed to produce numerous hits, such as “Come Clean”, “Wake Up” and “Sparks”.
