Jakarta (ANTARA) – A professional rider of the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix, Mark Marquez, managed to regain the MotoGP throne in 2025. This victory came after six years since he last won the MotoGP world championship.
Mark Marquez made his debut as a MotoGP rider in 2013 with the Repsol Honda Team. Then in 2024 he decides to move to the Gresini Racing Team. With this latest victory he returned to racing for the Ducati Lenovo team.
To date, Marquez has managed to win the MotoGP world title 7 times. Below are 7 streaks of success as MotoGP World Champion.
1. MotoGP2013
Marquez managed to win pole position and recorded his first victory as MotoGP world champion in 2013 at Laguna Seca.
At that time, this Spanish rider was only 20 years and 63 days old, making him the youngest rider to win a premier class GP and break the record. Freddie Spencer Aged 20 years and 196 days, he competed in the 500cc Belgian GP, Spa-Francorchamps in 1982.

2. MotoGP2014
Mark Marquez managed to become the 2014 MotoGP World Champion after finishing second at the Motegi Circuit and pocketing 20 points. He became the first Honda rider to win the world title at Motegi.
Besides that, Marquez also made history as the youngest rider to win two consecutive main class titles at the age of 21 years and 237 days. This record beat that of Mike Hailwood, who had previously won the 500cc twice in a row in 1963 when he was 23 years and 152 days old.
3. MotoGP2016
After going through a season full of challenges in 2015, Marquez bounced back in MotoGP 2016. Even though his chances were expected to be small, he still managed to perform brilliantly and win his third world title.
At the same age, 23, Marquez again became the youngest rider to record three premier class titles, beating the record of Mike Hailwood who achieved a similar result at the age of 24 years and 108 days in 1964.

4. MotoGP2017
Marquez’s dominance continued in the 2017 MotoGP. He successfully defended his title after competing closely with Andrea Dovizioso throughout the season.
This victory made him the youngest rider to collect four world titles in the premier class, once again surpassing Mike Hailwood’s record.
5. MotoGP2018
In the 2018 season, Marquez once again demonstrated his consistency by taking nine victories despite the obstacles he faced, including three penalties in the Argentine GP.
He secured world titles in Aragon, Thailand and Japan. On the Motegi circuit, home of Honda, Marquez made history as the first young rider to win seven world titles.

6.MotoGP 2019
The 2019 season was a time full of difficulties for Marquez. He had to fight fiercely with Andrea Dovizioso and Fabio Quartararo until the last lap.
However, Marquez still managed to establish himself as world champion in the premier class for the sixth time. When added to his two previous titles in the 125cc and Moto2 classes, his total world title was eight victories that year.
7.MotoGP 2025
After being absent for a long time due to injury, Marquez returned to MotoGP 2025. He secured his seventh world title in the premier class after finishing second at the Motegi circuit, Sunday (28/9), ahead of his rival and younger brother, Alex Marquez. This result allowed him to equal legend Valentino Rossi’s record of seven titles in the premier class.
Overall, Mark Marquez has collected nine world titles throughout his career, including seven MotoGP titles, one 125cc class title (2010) and one Moto2 title (2012).
This driver from Cervera, Spain, born February 17, 1993, is known as the “king of the main class” thanks to his skill and fight on the track. Even though he often suffered injuries, Marquez never gave up and always managed to get back up to rewrite the history of the world championship.
