Jakarta (ANTARA) – An exciting match will be presented in the fifth week of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 when PSIM Yogyakarta takes on Borneo FC Samarinda at Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, Sunday (14/9) at 3.30pm WIB. This match is under the spotlight because both teams did not suffer defeat at the start of the season.
With its status as a promotional team, PSIM Yogyakarta was able to show impressive performances in the top caste. The 2024/2025 Pegadaian Liga 2 champions have collected eight points from four matches with two wins and two draws, placing them in fourth place in the table.
Laskar Mataram has recorded positive results in the last two matches. They drew 1-1 against Persib Bandung and beat Malut United FC with a score of 2-0. Further excitement also comes after the 96-year-old club just celebrated its anniversary on September 5.
“We hope that PSIM will become more united and solid and always be successful. We hope that what we are proud of for the people of Yogyakarta can be achieved,” said PSIM player Rendra Teddy, as reported on the ILeague’s official website.

Meanwhile, Borneo FC looked more convincing. Pesut Etam was the only team to achieve perfect results with three wins in their first three matches. With nine points, Fabio Lefundes’ team is now in second place in the table.
Borneo were supposed to face Persib Bandung in week four. However, the duel was postponed due to the unfavorable situation in the city of Bandung. Coach Fabio Lefundes said he was disappointed by the postponement, but stressed that his team focused all its attention on the match against PSIM.
“Now we have to change our mind because the next opponent is PSIM. I think it’s like in school, we studied for an exam, but the exam was cancelled. So we have to study again to face the next exam,” said the Brazilian coach.
Since both are undefeated, the match is expected to be close. PSIM Yogyakarta will benefit from the support of the Bantul crowd to extend their positive trend, while Borneo FC have ambitions to maintain a perfect record. Looking at the performances of both teams, a draw is the most realistic prediction for this duel.
