Jakarta (ANTARA) – Chelsea FC made another transfer surprise. The London club has officially signed Emanuel Emegha, a young Dutch striker, on a long-term contract lasting seven years.
Although the deal has been signed, Emegha will only join the Blues squad in 2026 and currently still plays for Strasbourg.
Before officially joining Chelsea, Emegha’s name was on the radar of several big European clubs such as Aston Villa, Newcastle United, RB Leipzig and Napoli.
However, Chelsea and Strasbourg, which are owned by the BlueCo consortium, have ensured that the recruitment process runs smoothly. In fact, several reports claim that this relocation plan has been decided starting in 2025.

Emanuel Esseh Emegha was born in The Hague, Netherlands, on February 3, 2003. He comes from a multicultural family, where his father is Togolese, while his mother is Nigerian.
However, Emegha chose to defend the Dutch national team at age group level, namely with the U-21 and U-20 (2023), U-19 (2021) and U-15 (2017) teams.
With a height of 195 centimeters and a weight of around 80 kilograms, Emegha is known as a tall and agile striker.
Emegha started his professional steps with Sparta Rotterdam in 2020. In his first season, he played 16 matches. His talent attracted the attention of many European clubs even after appearing consistently in the Eredivisie.
In January 2022 he moved to Royal Antwerp in Belgium on a five-year contract. However, Emegha’s playing opportunities at this club are limited.
