Jakarta (ANTARA) – Good news comes from the world of South Korean entertainment. Ok Taecyeon, actor and member of idol group 2PM, has officially announced his plans to get married next year.
The announcement was made directly by his agency, 51K, on Saturday (26/10). In its statement, the agency said Taecyeon’s wedding will be held privately in Seoul, South Korea.
Taecyeon, now 36 years old, is known to the public not only as a singer, but also as a talented actor with numerous popular roles in various Korean dramas and films.

Profile, training and professional path
Ok Taecyeon was born on December 27, 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. Aside from being known as a member of the group 2PM, he has also successfully pursued an acting career in various popular dramas and films.
He studied at Dankook University majoring in Business Administration, then continued his studies at Korea University Graduate School of International Studies.
Before pursuing his career, Taecyeon lived in Busan and studied in the United States at Bedford High School.
His career path in entertainment began when he joined JYP Entertainment at the encouragement of his older sister.
After going through a long period of training, Taecyeon officially debuted with 2PM on September 4, 2008. This group is known for its “idol beast” concept that displays physical strength and energy on stage.
As the main rapper and sub-vocalist of 2PM, Taecyeon has his own unique and interesting style. Their debut mini album, “Hottest Time of the Day” brought great success and earned the group the “Rookie of the Year” award.
Since then, the group 2PM has grown to become one of the most influential K-pop groups in the Korean music industry.
His contract with JYP Entertainment ended in 2018. Even so, Taecyeon decided to remain a member of 2PM. By moving to 51K, the agency maintains its commitment to the group.

His acting debut began with the drama film “Cinderella’s Sister” (2010), followed by the role in “Dream High” (2011) which catapulted him among the most famous young Korean actors.
He then appeared in numerous successful dramas such as “Who Are You” (2013), “Bring It On, Ghost” (2016), “Save Me” (2017), “Vincenzo” (2021), “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” (2021), up to “Heartbeat” (2023).
In 2025, he starred in two major drama projects, namely “First Night with the Duke” which aired on KBS2 and “Soul Mate” which aired on Netflix.
In the film world, Taecyeon has also starred in several titles, including “Marriage Blue” (2013), “Hansan: Rising Dragon” (2022) and “Grande Maison Paris” (2024).
In addition to being an active member of his group, Taecyeon is also active in the world of solo music. He released an album titled “Taecyeon Special: Winter Hitori” in 2017 and promoted it in Japan, as well as being the composer of the song “Promise (I’ll Be)” for 2PM’s album, “Gentlemen’s Game”.
He also sang in several dramatic OSTs such as “Dream High”, “7th Grade Civil Servant” and “Marriage Blue”.
On September 4, 2017, Taecyeon completed his mandatory military service and is known as one of the celebrities who carries out his duties in an exemplary manner.
He completed his service in May 2019 and also received an honorary promotion to sergeant.
It is known that Taecyeon also signed a contract with the international agency William Morris Endeavor (WME) in 2015.
After completing various solo projects, Taecyeon returned to activity with 2PM through their seventh album, “MUST” (2023), which was a huge success on the South Korean charts.
