Jakarta (ANTARA) – The name Ok Taecyeon is certainly familiar to fans of Korean dramas. This South Korean actor and singer has been involved in Korean entertainment for a long time.
Taecyeon began his career as the lead rapper in the legendary boy group 2PM in 2008. Two years later, he also expanded his career into the world of acting through the drama film “Cinderella’s Sister” (2010).
Since then, the man born on December 27, 1988 has continued to showcase his acting skills, from romance to thriller genres.

1. “Dream High” (2011)
This school-themed musical drama was one of the first works that made Taecyeon’s name as an actor. “Dream High” tells the story of Kirin Art School students who strive to realize their dream of becoming stars.
Taecyeon plays Jin Gook, a talented dancer known for causing trouble but with a great desire to succeed.
He has collaborated with numerous big stars such as Bae Suzy, Kim Soo Hyun and IU. This star-studded drama also became the most popular high school musical drama of its time.
2. “Come On, Ghost” (2016)
In this fantasy-romantic-comedy drama, Taecyeon plays Park Bong Pal, a man who has the ability to see spirits.
He is paired with actress Kim So Hyun who plays Hyun Ji, the spirit of a young girl who has lost her memory.
The two work together to help the wandering spirits complete their worldly affairs, before finally leaving for another world.
Their relationship, which began as a collaboration, slowly transformed into a love story between humans and spirits from another world.

3. “Save Me” (2017)
“Save Me” features Taecyeon’s acting role as Han Sang Hwan, the role of a politician’s son who tries to save his schoolmates from the trap of heretical teachings in a remote village called Muji Gun.
Together with his three friends, Sang Hwan fights to help Sang Mi (Seo Ye Ji) who is trapped in a dangerous cult. The drama received praise for its tense plot and strong message about trust.
4. “Vincenzo” (2021)
Taecyeon’s name has once again caught the public’s attention thanks to his role as Jang Joon Woo, a character who initially seems innocent but turns out to be Boss Babel, the main antagonist of the drama series “Vincenzo”.
Together with Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin, he managed to create a dramatic story full suspense and surprise through unexpected twists.
The dual role which required him to appear as both the innocent Joon Woo and the psychopathic Babel Boss meant that Taecyeon was showered with praise for the quality of his acting.

5. “Secret Royal Inspector and Joy” (2021)
This historical genre drama is Taecyeon’s debut in the world of sageuk. He plays Ra Yi Eon, a royal employee who prefers cooking to engaging in political affairs.
However, thanks to his intelligence, he was eventually appointed as a secret royal inspector with the mission of uncovering the mysterious deaths of royal servants.
Together with Kim Hye Yoon who plays Kim Joy, a tough young widow, the two solve various mysterious cases with a tinge of humor and adventure.
6. “Blind” (2022)
In the thriller titled “Blind”, Taecyeon plays Ryu Sung Joon, a detective determined to catch criminals.
Despite his determination and hard work, Sung Joon managed to solve various cases and arrest criminals.
However, problems began to arise when he tried to solve the serial murder case with his brother.
In this case, the trial jury became the victim. They finally did their best to reveal the perpetrator of this cruel case.
In this drama, which has a total of 16 episodes, Taecyeon is known to star alongside Ha Seok Jin, Jun Eun Ji, and Park Ji Bin.

7. “Heartbeat” (2023)
Taecyeon shows his romantic and fantasy side by acting through the character of Sun Woo Hyeol, a half-human vampire who wakes up early from his 100-year sleep.
However, due to urgent circumstances, he has to live with Joo In Hae (Won Ji An), in the old house left by the In Hae family.
From an initially awkward relationship, the two slowly grow to love each other in this unique love story between humans and immortal creatures.
8. “First Night with the Duke” (2025)
In this latest drama, Taecyeon competes with one of the members groups of girls Generation of Legendary Girls or SNSD, Seohyun.
Taecyeon is known for playing the role of Lee Beon, a man with a cold personality but unbeatable martial arts skills and charming visuals.
Meanwhile, Seohyun plays Cha Sun Chaek, a woman whose personality is the opposite of Lee Beon, who is a cheerful figure.
During his life’s journey, Lee Beon also met Cha Sun Chaek, a woman who accidentally managed to comfort Lee Beon for his past wounds.
One day, because they were drunk, they ended up spending the night together. Since then, Lee Beon has been obsessed with Sun Chaek.
Every time Sun Chaek moves away, Lee Beon always has a way of getting closer to Sun Chaek again.
It was also recently reported that Ok Taecyeon will marry his non-famous partner next year.
His agency, 51K, said the wedding event would be held behind closed doors and would be attended by family and close friends.
