Jakarta (ANTARA) – Entering November 2025, a number of new films are ready to appear on Indonesian cinema screens with various interesting genres to watch.
Not just romantic stories, numerous big production houses have released their latest works in various other film genres, such as family relationships, tense thrillers, to gripping horror stories.
Below are recommendations for 7 new November 2025 theatrical films that should be on your watchlist to fill your weekend with excitement.
1. “Pangku” (November 6)
This film chronicles the life journey of Sartika (Claresta Taufan), a young pregnant woman who decides to leave her hometown to find a better life for her child.
During her journey she meets Maya (Christine Hakim), the owner of a bar in the Pantura area who welcomes her and takes care of her until she gives birth.
However, Sartika’s new life is not entirely easy. Maya then convinces her to work in her shop in an unusual way, until Sartika meets Hadi (Fedi Nuril), a truck driver who makes her feel the meaning of love and hope again.
The film “Pangku” was produced by Reza Rahadian under the production house Motion Picture Film, which highlights a woman’s struggle, self-esteem and pursuit of happiness amidst life’s difficulties.
2. “Kuncen” (November 6)
This horror film, directed by Jose Poernomo, shows tension, mystery and a story of human struggle against invisible forces in the mountainous nature.
“Kuncen” tells the story of Awindya (Azela Putri) who is determined to climb Mount Merapi to search for her lover, Devlin (Thomi Baraqbah), who has mysteriously disappeared. He was accompanied by his two friends, Agnes (Vonny Felicia) and Mojo (Mikha Hernan).
However, their journey became tense when Mount Kuncen was found dead. Together with two other climbers, Yoga (Cinta Brian) and Diska (Davina Karamoy), they are trapped in the terror of the supernatural creatures that infest the area. To get out safely, they must find the new Kuncen before it’s too late.
3. “Third Figure: Lintrik” (November 6)
This film, directed by Fajar Nugros, presents a mystical dramatic story with a touch of emotion and tension.
The movie “Third Figure: Lintrik” tells the story of Andin (Adinda Thomas) who begins to experience various oddities after six months of marriage to Aryo (Wafda Saifan).
Suspicions arose from the beginning, especially from Pakde Bagyo (Nugie) and Andin’s sister Amara (Adzwa Aurel), who have the ability to see the supernatural. They felt something was wrong in Andin’s house.
The truth is revealed when Aryo is revealed to be having an affair with Naura (Aulia Sarah), a rich woman who is trying to win him over using Lintrik pellets.
Supernatural terror begins to haunt Andin and his family, leading them into a conflict between love, faith and supernatural powers.
4. “Dopamine” (October 13)
This film tells the story of Malik (Angga Yunanda) and Alya (Shenina Cinnamon), a young couple whose family relationships begin to weaken as Malik gets fired and falls into debt.
One night, after Malik’s car breaks down following a failed job interview, a foreign guest helps them and stays at their house.
The next morning, they were shocked to find the host dead with a syringe in his hand, leaving behind a suitcase full of billions that would change the couple’s lives.
This film was produced by Starvision in collaboration with Karuna Pictures and directed and written by Teddy Soeria Atmadja.
Besides that, the main characters of this film features a couple of young actors, Angga Yunanda and Shenina Cinnamon, supported by other actors such as Andri Mashadi, Anjasmara, Teuku Rifnu Wikana and numerous other supporting actors.
5. “Until Your End” (November 13)
This film tells the story of the love journey of Shella (Mawar de Jongh) and Albi (Arbani Yasiz) who met when each was chasing their dreams.
Their relationship is not only physical, but also heartfelt and full of support from their respective families.
However, that happiness was put to the test when Shella was diagnosed with cancer. They went through joy and pain, tears and laughter, until only true love remained until the last point of their union.
This plot is inspired by the true story of the couple Albi Dwizky and Shella Selpi Lizah, which went viral on social media. This film is a production of LYTO Pictures, directed by Dinna Jasanti, and the screenplay was written by Evelyn Afnilia.
6. “I Don’t Know, Taaruf” (November 13)
This film tells the story of Zoya (Saskia Chadwick), a medical student who adheres to the principle of marriage without dating.
The traumatic experiences of her two older brothers, Khalid (Maghara Adipura) and Asma (Ghina Salsabiela), made Zoya afraid of falling in love.
His life changes when he meets Faris (Fadi Alaydrus), a marine technology student and singer who often annoys him.
Meanwhile, Cleopatra (Dinda Mahira), a beautiful and energetic student, becomes a big fan of Faris and tries to pursue her love.
This romantic genre film was produced by Yahywa Titi Mangsa, directed by Toma Margens, with a screenplay written by Whida Rositama and Toma Margens.
7. “Justice (the verdict)” (November 20)
This Indonesian-South Korean collaborative thriller film was produced by MD Pictures, JNC Media Group, Innikor, Yusron Fuadi Pictures, directed by Lee Chang-hee and the screenplay was written by Yoon Hyeon-ho.
The plot tells the story of Raka (Rio Dewanto), an honest court security officer, who is shocked to see the legal system manipulated by money, connections and lies.
The situation becomes complicated when his wife Nina (Niken Anjani), a young pregnant lawyer, becomes the victim of a brutal crime at the hands of a rich man’s son protected by the cunning lawyer Timo (Reza Rahadian).
Trapped in a corrupt legal system and under the influence of social media, Raka loses faith and decides to take the trial into his own hands with a bomb and a gun in hand.
