Jakarta (ANTARA) – Mitsubishi Motors has officially launched its new SUV, the all-new Destinator, which targets the family segment in the ASEAN region, including Indonesia. This seven-passenger capacity vehicle presents itself as a premium SUV with a combination of comfort, high performance and modern design that addresses the needs of consumers in developing markets.
“The all-new Destinator is a premium family SUV that combines everyday functionality with spacious space for seven passengers, as well as bold looks and SUV-like performance,” said Mitsubishi Motors President and CEO Takao Kato at the launch press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (7/17).
Design and external dimensions
The new Mitsubishi Destinator features two exterior design themes, namely Gravitas and Dynamism, with an elegant horizontal front appearance that emphasizes a strong and confident impression. Dark pillars and smooth body lines reinforce the impression of a spacious interior.
This SUV has dimensions of 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,780 mm in height and a wheelbase of (wheelbase) 2,815 mm. These dimensions make the Destinator larger than the Xforce and almost the same size as the latest generation Honda CR-V.

Premium interior and entertainment features
The cabin is designed for comfort with a three-row seating configuration that seats seven passengers. The second row has a 40:20:40 seat with armrests and cup holders, while the third row can be folded 50:50 to expand the trunk.
The interior is equipped with panoramic sunrooflighting environmental 64 colors and infotainment system measuring 12.3 inches for the Ultimate type or 8 inches on Exceed and GLS. The instrument cluster is available in an 8-inch digital format (Ultimate and Exceed) or a combination of 4.2-inch analog and MID displays (GLS). The audio system uses 8 Yamaha Premium speakers for the Ultimate type and 4 normal speakers for the other variants.
Performance and engine
The all-new Destinator relies on a 1,500cc DOHC 16-valve Turbo inline 4-cylinder petrol engine (engine code 4B40) capable of producing 163PS at 5,000rpm and 250Nm of torque at 2,500-4,000rpm. The transmission uses CVT (Continuously variable transmission).
Ultimate and Exceed types get five driving modes, namely Wet, Gravel, Asphalt, Mud and an additional mode for various terrains. The front suspension uses a MacPherson strut and the rear uses a torsion bar. The braking system includes ventilated discs on all four wheels with 18-inch rims and 225/55 R18 tyres.

Security systems and ADAS
The Ultimate variant is the only one equipped with a complete ADAS package (Advanced driver assistance system) which includes features like:
- Frontal collision mitigation (with AEB),
- Adaptive cruise control,
- Blind spot warning and lane change assistant,
- Automatic high beams,
- Rear cross traffic alert.
Apart from this, this higher variant also features a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, automatic headlamps, automatic wipers and hands-free electric trunk.
Variants and colors
Mitsubishi presents the Destinator in three variant options, namely:
1.Last – Targeting consumers who want luxury and high technology.
2. Overcome – Offers intelligent technological features and driving comfort.
3.GLS – Functional variant with solid basic features for everyday needs.
Color options include Jet Black Mica, Quartz White Pearl, Blade Silver Metallic, Graphite Gray Metallic and Lunar Blue.
Price of the brand new Mitsubishi 2025 Destinator
Although not officially announced, Mitsubishi said the all-new 2025 Destinator will begin marketing in Indonesia at the GIIAS 2025 event with an estimated price of between IDR 400 million and IDR 500 million, depending on the variant.
The Destinator is Mitsubishi’s third global strategic model born in Indonesia after the Xpander and will be marketed globally, including ASEAN countries, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
