Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono XIII’s full name is Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Aryo Hangabehi. He was born in Surakarta, on June 28, 1948, as the eldest son of Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono XII. In family life, he was accompanied by Empress Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Pakubuwono and was blessed with a son named KGPH Purbaya.
Pakubuwono XIII was crowned king in 2004 following the death of PB XII who ruled for nearly sixty years. During his reign, he was known to have a calm and humble character and was steadfast in maintaining the spirit of Javanese culture.
