Jakarta (ANTARA) – The 2025/2026 summer transfer market in Europe’s top leagues officially closed on 31 August 2025. There have been a number of big deals, with Liverpool being the most aggressive club in recruiting star players.
The reigning Premier League champions spent a total of £320 million or around IDR 7 trillion to bring in three players. The transfer record was broken again with the arrival of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike at Anfield.
The most expensive transfer this summer occurred when Liverpool signed Swedish striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for £125 million (around R2.52 trillion). This figure makes it the most expensive transfer in the history of the Premier League.
But that’s not all: Liverpool have already broken a record by signing the young German midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old was bought for £116 million (Rs 2.17 trillion).
On top of that, the Reds have added attacking power through the hiring of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. The French striker joined for a transfer fee of £79 million (Rs 1.6 trillion).

Newcastle United did not remain silent and signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart for £69 million (Rs 1.47 trillion).
From Italy, Milan managed to sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea with a gift of £36 million (Rs 789.8 billion), making him the biggest signing in Serie A. But the highlight came from the sales side. Napoli have sold Victor Osimhen to Turkish club Galatasaray for £65 million (Rs 1.3 trillion).
Bayern Munich also strengthened their forward line by purchasing Luis Diaz from Liverpool for £56 million (Rs 1.2 trillion). Meanwhile, Arsenal have tied down Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi for a similar fee of £56 million.
