The legacy of Amran Sulaiman, the new head of the National Food Agency

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Andi Amran Sulaiman has been chosen by President Prabowo to fill the strategic position of head of the National Food Agency. This determination is based on Presidential Decree number 116/P of 2025 dated October 9, 2025.

Amran’s new position replaces Arief Prasetyo Adi’s position. Previously, Amran Sulaiman served as Minister of Agriculture from 25 October 2023 and held the same ministerial position from 2014-2019 under President Jokowi.

So, this Sulawesi-born man also held the position of Head of Field Operations and Logistics at PT Perkebunan Nusantara XIV.

Apart from the government world, Amran is also involved in the business world. He heads the Tiran Group, a holding company he founded in 1998 that operates mainly in eastern Indonesia.

According to data from the State Administrator’s Asset Report (LHKPN), Amran Sulaiman is recorded with a net worth of IDR 1,382,900,461,435 or IDR 1.3 trillion. This report was submitted on 20 March 2025 for the period 2024.

Of this total amount, the majority of its assets come from securities holdings worth IDR 863.4 billion.

So, other assets consist of cash and cash equivalents worth IDR 516 billion, movable assets worth IDR 2.8 billion and other assets worth IDR 38.5 million.

Not only that, Amran also owns land and construction assets worth a total of IDR 296.8 billion, as well as transportation equipment and machinery worth IDR 18.6 billion.

With total gross assets reaching IDR 1.69 trillion, it has debts of approximately IDR 315.5 billion. So his wealth amounts to IDR 1.38 trillion.
