Jakarta (ANTARA) – The name of Riau Deputy Governor Sofyan Franyata (SF) Hariyanto has surfaced after Riau Governor Abdul Wahid was caught in an undercover operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (March 11).
He is said to have an opportunity to take up the post of Riau governor after Abdul Wahid was officially named as a suspect in an alleged extortion-related corruption case within the Riau provincial government today for the 2025 fiscal year.
On the other hand, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) offers the opportunity to summon names who may have knowledge of the construction of the alleged corruption case.
The figure of SF Hariyanto himself is not a foreign name within the Riau provincial government. He is originally from Riau, grew up in Pekanbaru and has dedicated himself to the development of his homeland.
SF Hariyanto was born in Pekanbaru, Riau on 30 April 1965. He completed primary school to high school at a government school in Pekanbaru, then continued his studies for Diploma 3 (D3) at the Home Government Academy in 1988.
He then continued his higher studies at the Islamic University of Riau in 1992, earning a degree in civil engineering. He received a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Islamic University of Indonesia in 2006.
Before serving as deputy governor of Riau in February 2025, SF Hariyanto served as regional secretary (Sekda) of Riau province in 2021. Then, in 2024, he was appointed acting governor (Pj) of Riau after serving as day-to-day manager several days earlier.
After six months as interim governor of Riau, SF Hariyanto then resigned because he was participating in the 2024 regional elections as a candidate for deputy governor of Riau paired with Abdul Wahid. Both also managed to emerge as winners of the 2024 regional elections in Riau.
The following is SF Hariyanto’s state administrator (LHKPN) asset ratio according to periodic data for 2023, when he was still regional secretary of Riau Province.
According to the LHKPN, SF Hariyanto would have total assets of IDR 14.05 billion. Its largest assets are registered as land and buildings whose value exceeds IDR 12.1 billion. These resources are spread from Pekanbaru to South Jakarta and South Tangerang.
SF Hariyanto’s real estate assets are mainly located in Pekanbaru. He is said to have owned seven land and building assets, as well as a plot of land in Pekanbaru, most of which he obtained from his own income, and the remainder came from a gift deed. The value varies from IDR 264 million to IDR 974 million.
He is also registered as the owner of a property in South Tangerang area worth around IDR 3.8 billion, up to two real estate assets in South Jakarta in the form of a land and a building worth IDR 3.2 billion and a plot of land worth IDR 400 million.
As for SF Hariyanto’s assets in the form of transportation equipment and machinery in the LHKPN, there is only one registered, namely a 2022 Toyota Alphard car worth IDR 1.1 billion. It also reported other movable assets amounting to IDR 216 million, as well as cash and cash equivalents worth approximately IDR 628 million.
He was recorded as having no record of debt or securities ownership in the LHKPN. Therefore, Hariyanto’s total wealth at the time of filing the LHKPN on March 14, 2024 reached IDR 14,052,491,162.
