“Strength training contributes to several factors. In addition to generally preparing the muscles and tendons for the weekly training loads and avoiding injury, it increases muscle resistance so that you can withstand longer training sessions and races, and can withstand repetitive loads so that you can maintain the desired pace for longer in races.”
